Instrument Care Workshop

Free Education Workshop on
Music Instruments: Essential Maintenance and Care.

Bring your instruments. Share in the discussion, play, jam and improvise!

We love to play music and we enjoy the good sound of our instruments. But our instruments need good care so they can sing with us happily.

Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in cooperation with Burlington College offer FREE EDUCATION WORKSHOP on best practices for fretted instruments with Luthier Randy Crosby. A few good practices and some attention will ensure long lasting, good looking, great sounding instruments that need only fewer repairs.

Discussions will focus on set-ups, climate control, storage, checking for damage, short-term emergency and first-aid, caring for fret boards, when to change strings, preparing for trips, and when to go to a professional luthier. Instruments covered are guitar, bass guitar, violin, mandolin, cello, banjo and other string/fretted instruments.

Venue is at Burlington College Community Gallery
95 North Avenue, Burlington, VT
June 6, Friday, 6:15 - 9 pm

Randy Crosby is a local luthier and a musician living in Vermont. He builds and repairs string instruments and is a certified/authorized luthier for leading instrument makers such as C. F. Martin, Taylor, Fender and its subsidiaries.
